New Delhi: Scores of AAP and other parties' workers protested outside the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer's office at Kashmere Gate on Wednesday for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

Delhi Aam Aadmi Party chief Saurabh Bharadwaj said the party will ask the polling official about the deletion of lakhs of city's voters from the voter list.

"We don't have any personal rivalry with the government. We are fighting for the Constitution and rights. We also want to cooperate with the police," Bharadwaj said.

Demanding Kumar's resignation, protesters raised slogans: "Vote chori nahi chalegi" and "Vote chor, gaddi chhor".

Bharadwaj, whose party has been seeking answers on deletion of nearly "half" of Delhi population's names from the voter roll, said the Delhi Police gave permission to three people to go inside and speak to the CEO.

"This is injustice and they should withdraw that," Bharadwaj said.

The AAP earlier protested over the issue at Jantar Mantar on October 2 and at India Gate on October 4.

"Now, BJP cannot lie anymore. They cut 45 lakh votes. If they have to conduct the election with dishonesty, they can win like this only, then why conduct elections?" Bharadwaj said.

He said people from across the country would protest against the CEO on October 10, with Jantar Mantar as the epicentre of the agitation.

The Cockroach Janata Party has called for a protest against Gyanesh Kumar at Jantar Mantar on October 10.
