According to the Minister, land has been allotted to Lam Research in the Adinarayanahosahalli industrial area of Doddaballapura taluk, covering 73 acres. The country's first silicon-component manufacturing facility will come up here and is expected to create more than 1,000 direct high-tech jobs.

"The project will also mark the beginning of advanced semiconductor materials and component manufacturing in the State. The foundation stone for the facility will be laid shortly, and it is expected to commence operations within one-and-a-half years," he said.

Similarly, the minister said that the US-based Applied Materials, a global leader in semiconductor materials engineering and the manufacture of equipment required for the sector, will invest USD five billion in India by 2035.

He said the company has chosen Bengaluru for the expansion of its long-term operations and will invest Rs 3,600 crore in the State over the next 10 years.

"For this purpose, 140 acres is being allotted to the company at Bengaluru Signature Business Park. The project is also expected to create more than 1,000 high-quality jobs," Patil noted.
