‘If 13 cr votes were stolen? India would be on streets’: Patra rebuts Rahul Gandhi in Varanasi
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra addressed a press conference in Varanasi, responding to Rahul Gandhi’s allegations over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and “vote chori”. Patra defended the revision process, arguing that the 13-crore figure cited by Gandhi includes voters categorised as absent, permanently shifted, deceased or duplicate. He also challenged the Congress over the role of its booth-level agents and the Election Commission, and took several digs at Rahul Gandhi, including his “56-tikli” remark over the Congress’s electoral losses.
