Ashwini Vaishnaw visits railway war room at Rail Bhavan to review Diwali-Chhath arrangements
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw took stock of the Railways' festival-season preparedness at the war room in New Delhi's Rail Bhavan. On train delays Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the rail network is facing peak congestion due to increased passenger and freight movement. He said 36,000 km of additional tracks have been laid in the last 10 years, while seven major corridors are being quadrupled. The expansion will enable over 1,000 additional regular trains, easing congestion and improving reservation availability.
