SECI extends timeline for green ammonia tender to Jun 30
Solar Energy Corporation of India has pushed the deadline for bids on its green ammonia project. Companies now have until June 30 to submit their proposals. This initiative aims to produce 7,24,000 metric tonnes of green ammonia annually. The ammonia will supply 13 fertiliser plants across India. SECI will manage demand and secure long-term agreements with producers for a decade.

Ammonia supply in SIGHT of NTPC Green Energy

Greenko in talks with REC to raise up to Rs 2,400 crore
The project has an offtake agreement with Norway's Yara and received pre-certification for ammonia. An offtake agreement is a contract to buy or sell goods in advance of production, which will facilitate financing for the project. Greenko has signed a term sheet with Yara Clean Ammonia in May this year, the trader and distributor of ammonia, for the supply of renewable ammonia from Phase 1 of AM Green's ammonia production facility in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.

The government is also likely to allow the option of e-reverse bidding for willing procurers. The rules also propose the provision of intermediaries between green hydrogen and ammonia procurers and suppliers who can aggregate demand from more than one consumer. The option of pooling of tariff by the traders is also being considered.

By providing Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia Certification, TÜV Rheinland enables stakeholders to ensure that ammonia and hydrogen produced from regenerative sources has lower levels of greenhouse-gas emissions than conventional hydrogen or fossil fuels, it said in a statement.
