    Three-vehicle collision in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia leaves drivers injured; police probe underway

    A 29-year-old man was charged following a collision in Dartmouth, a community of the Halifax Regional Municipality, in Nova Scotia on Sunday afternoon (April 6, 2026), Halifax Regional Police said, as reported by CTV News. Emergency crews were called to a three-vehicle crash on Portland Street, between Spring Avenue and Eisner Boulevard, at around 4 p.m. All three drivers involved suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

    Police said that the 29-year-old man was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm. His name was not disclosed at the time of filing of the report. He is set to appear in court on a later date. Traffic was blocked on Portland Street for a couple hours, but the road has since reopened. The incident remains under investigation.

    Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a 30-year-old man from Barrie was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre in serious but stable condition after a shooting occurred in downtown Barrie on Sunday morning (April 5, 2026). Barrie Police say they were called to the area near Dunlop Street East between Owen Street and Clapperton Street just before 3 a.m., CTV News reported, citing a press release.


    Police revealed that an altercation took place outside of a downtown night club that resulted in a male suffering a gunshot wound. Officials obtained images of a male suspect who was involved in the shooting and are seeking assistance from the public.

    Dunlop Street East between Owen and Mulcaster Street remained closed as of Sunday morning (April 5, 2026) but reopened at 11:00 a.m.
