Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari drops ‘Dham’ from Digha Jagannath complex after Odisha CM’s letter
West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari removed 'Dham' from the Digha Jagannath complex name on June 9, 2026, after accepting Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi’s letter delivered by BJP MP Sambit Patra. The state will rename it 'Jagannath Cultural Center Complex', but rituals will still follow Puri Jagannath Temple rules. Puri servitor Bhabani Das Mohapatra welcomed the move, ending a year-long row since the previous government named it 'Shri Shri Jagannath Dham Cultural Center' in April 2025.
