Nature's magic! Waterfall appears to emerge from sky; breathtaking video from giant Brazilian cave leaves viewers amazed

A video filmed inside Brazil’s Casa de Pedra cave has captured an unusual sight, with a waterfall appearing to pour straight out of a rainbow in the sky. The footage shows water falling from a crack in the rock above the cave entrance, while a colourful solar halo circles the Sun and another rainbow-like arc appears nearby. Located in Iporanga, Sao Paulo state, the cave is part of Alto Ribeira Tourist State Park and is known for its enormous entrance, which rises around 170 to 200 metres high. Here is how the cave’s setting, falling water and atmospheric optical effects create the striking illusion.

Annual Solar Eclipse 2026: Will the ‘Ring of Fire’ be visible from the US? Who will see the sky go dark for two minutes

We are only days away from the first solar eclipse of 2026, an annular event that will momentarily transform the Sun into a radiant halo, commonly known as the “Ring of Fire.” The eclipse is set to occur on February 17, 2026.

3I Atlas: Scientist says Interstellar Object did not change color, decodes mystery behind Blue-Green claims

The interstellar object 3I/ATLAS, which recently drew attention for its supposed color shift during its close pass by the Sun, did not, in fact, experience any actual change in colour.

3I/ATLAS turns striking Blue near the Sun on October 29: Scientists detect Interstellar object’s sudden brightening color shift

The interstellar object 3I/ATLAS has astonished astronomers by turning distinctly blue and rapidly brightening as it neared the Sun on October 29, 2025. Observations from multiple space-based solar observatories have revealed unexplained optical changes, prompting renewed curiosity about the mysterious visitor’s origin and behavior.

Unlike what we, in Asia, consider to be GAE - the decline of the US as a global power - Monday's phenomenon was the celestial spectacle of a total solar eclipse.

Total solar eclipse: North Americans celebrate with cheers, music and matrimony

North American skywatchers celebrated a total solar eclipse, with festive events in various locations. The eclipse brought awe and joy, with the potential to positively impact social divisions through shared experiences, as suggested by Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak.

    • Solar Eclipse 2024: Will ISRO's Aditya-L1 be able to shed light on Sun's secrets?

India's Aditya L1 satellite, dedicated to studying the Sun, will miss the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, as it is positioned to provide uninterrupted views of the Sun. In contrast, NASA is gearing up for the rare celestial event, flying special research planes and organizing various activities across the USA to witness the spectacle safely. The eclipse will darken skies as it passes over North America, with the path of totality tracking across several cities.

Vikram lander raised lot of dust during moon landing, created halo

"During the action of descent stage thrusters and the consequent landing, a significant amount of lunar surficial epiregolith material got ejected, resulting in a reflectance anomaly or 'ejecta halo'," scientists at the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) said in the paper. They estimated that the landing event had ejected 2.09 tonnes of lunar regolith over 108.4 square metre area.

After Chandrayaan, ISRO now gearing up for its solar mission with Aditya in Aud-end, Sept

India's Aditya-L1 solar observatory is set to launch at the end of August, having arrived at Sriharikota spaceport after development at the UR Rao Satellite Centre in Bengaluru. The solar observatory will study the Sun's behavior, focusing on the dynamics and origins of coronal mass ejections. The spacecraft will be equipped with seven payloads and is expected to provide critical insights into solar dynamics.
