'Trump may be mentally unbalanced, but...': Sanders rips Trump over division and attacks on El-Sayed
US Senator Bernie Sanders campaigned in Grand Rapids on Sunday (October 25) for Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, accusing Republicans of running a racist campaign against him nine days before the Nov. 3 election in one of the most closely watched races of the midterms. Sanders told the cheering crowd that Republicans were using Islamophobia against El-Sayed because they had nothing to say on health care, housing or inequality, and said Michigan voters would stand up to “vile racism.” He said President Donald Trump “may be a mentally unbalanced person” but understood that dividing people was the surest way to hold power. El-Sayed told the crowd Trump could call him Senator after November.
