Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana: Part 1 finally arrived in the theatres on November 5. The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, brought forth 2 major revelations. While Sunny Deol made his first appearance as Lord Hanuman in a post-credit scene, Raghav Juyal was introduced as Meghnath, the formidable son of Ravana, played by KGF star Yash. Both Deol and Juyal will play major roles in Ramayana Part 2, scheduled for a 2028 release.

Speaking of Juyal, the 35-year-old once ruled the television industry with his powerful dance moves, being called the King of Slow Motion. He shot to overnight fame with Kill (2023), followed by Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, The Ba***ds of Bollywood. But his path to success wasn’t a bed of roses.

    Raghav Juyal’s early Mumbai life

Raghav Juyal, in a past conversation with Yuva, revealed that he skipped his board examinations and ran away to Mumbai to take part in dance auditions. Although the risk paid off, Juyal initially faced several challenges. ‘When I arrived, I had nothing,’ admitted the actor, adding that even then he used to enjoy the struggling phase.

Raghav Juyal recalled that he would love eating vada pavs, soaking in the small joys. In an interesting revelation, Juyal remembered that back when he was a dancer, he used to live with 10 boys in one room. Since their fridge did not work, all of them kept their undergarments inside it, using the fridge as a cupboard.

Raghav Juyal’s career growth and success

‘So, if someone visited us and opened the fridge by mistake, they would be stunned to see undergarments inside,’ noted Raghav Juyal. For the unversed, Juyal won hearts with his stint on Dance India Dance, showcasing his signature slow-motion moves, coupled with a humorous and grounded personality. But he had big dreams and wanted to make it big in the world of glitz and glam.

At the peak of his dance career, Juyal made the risky decision of taking a 5-year break from television, hosting gigs, and public appearances. He spent years preparing for the right opportunity, and finally, he was offered the role of the antagonist Fani in Kill (2023). One thing led to another, and now Juyal is gearing up for Ramayana Part 2.
