According to Kaynat Chainwala, AVP, commodity research, Kotak Securities, “India’s gold demand is adapting to structurally higher prices. Jewellery demand has softened, while investment demand, particularly coins and bars, has strengthened. This shift highlights a broader evolution in buying behaviour. Consumers are increasingly favouring lighter, investment-oriented formats, while urban investors, especially millennials, are increasingly comfortable with SEBI-regulated ETFs, adding a new demand layer that supplements rather than replacing traditional physical consumption.”
