Odisha spurious liquor case: 1 dies, 2 critical at MKCG hospital
One of the 15 individuals hospitalized at MKCG Medical College for consuming spurious country liquor died on Tuesday night. Jura Behera, 60, from Jenapur, was among 20 people who fell ill after drinking adulterated liquor in Maoundpur village, Ganjam district. Behera, who had underlying health issues, succumbed during treatment in the ICU. The incident sparked protests, with villagers demanding compensation. Police have arrested six people and destroyed illegal liquor operations in connection with the incident. Two other patients remain in critical condition.
