MHA revises financial cap for informers in operational areas

The cap is now Rs. 3,000 per person, up to Rs. 30,000 annually. Revisions also cover maintenance costs for foreign nationals and entertainment allowances for distinguished visitors. The last revision occurred in 2002.

The Union home ministry doubles availability of chartered aircraft for CAPF personnel in Manipur. Additional reinforcements of 150 companies have been sent since May 2023. But the operation faces difficulties due to ticket prices, aircraft availability, law and order situation, tribal solidarity march, hill districts, Meitei community, ST status, and Kuki groups.

Govt creates about 24K deputation reserve pool in central armed police forces, Assam Rifles
The Union government has sanctioned the creation of a 24,000-personnel deputation reserve within the existing manpower of the five central armed police forces and Assam Rifles. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued an order for the creation of a 23,958 'deputation reserve' in the CRPF, BSF, ITBP, CISF, SSB, and Assam Rifles. These forces are deployed for various internal security duties, including counter-terrorist operations, border guarding, elections, and maintaining law and order.

G20 summit: CRPF men to pilot left-hand drive cars for VIPs
CRPF was provided with imported bullet-proof vehicles such as Audi, BMW and Hyundai Genesis on which the drivers pooled from Special Protection Group (SPG), National Security Guard (NSG) and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) were trained for a month. Besides drivers, the CRPF will also provide close protection security to dignitaries and has trained more than 400 special officers for the G20 summit, added officials.
