    A new textile, Padma Doree, blending India's craft heritage with innovation, will be showcased from May 1st to 3rd.
    The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), the North Eastern Handicrafts and Handlooms Development Corporation (NEHHDC), and the Design and Technical Craft Council (DATCC) announce an upcoming showcase, scheduled from 1st to 3rd May, marking the unveiling of Padma Doree; a textile that brings together India’s craft heritage with innovation.Rooted in the vision of Make in India, Padma Doree is a fabric; it is an expression of culture, sustainability, and craftsmanship.

    Developed across two culturally significant regions of India, Padma Doree represents a convergence of textile traditions and generational knowledge systems. The fabric shows heritage techniques that are preserved, reinterpreted, and used within a contemporary framework.

    At its core lies a commitment to responsible creation. Padma Doree is crafted using natural dyes, drawing from time-honoured dyeing practices that yield depth and environmental integrity.
