‘India to supply Oil & Gas’ to Mauritius, securing energy amid West Asia crisis: EAM Jaishankar
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on April 9, 2026, in Port Louis reaffirmed India’s enhanced strategic partnership with Mauritius during the 9th Indian Ocean Conference. He highlighted cooperation across health, clean energy, defence and development, including a renal transplant unit and renewable energy projects. Jaishankar also announced plans to deploy a Defence Attaché to strengthen maritime ties. Amid the West Asia crisis, both sides are finalising an oil and gas supply agreement to boost Mauritius’ energy security.
