Crawl, climb and then eat food: Singapore’s ‘strangest’ restaurant offers a dining experience you will never forget

Some restaurants offer a dining experience that simply feels out of this world. Safe to say, Absurdities in Singapore has taken the concept a notch higher, quite literally. This ‘fun’ eatery not just specialises in scrumptious dishes but takes patrons on an adventurous ride. Visitors are required to wear comfortable clothing, as before you indulge in any meal, you have to crawl and climb through secret doorways, hidden walls and dimly-lit passageways. Every food is served in distinct themed rooms, adding to the appeal.

Inside ‘strange’ Singapore restaurant

Recently, digital creator Savannah Vinson dropped a video on Instagram where she shared her experience of exploring the Singapore restaurant, dubbed the ‘strangest restaurant in the world’. As per the video, diners get to enjoy a 6-course meal and witness 6 different dimensions or multiverses, which takes 2 hours, in the gastronomical session that feels nothing short of a cinematic spectacle.

One of the rooms gives off the vibe of a 50s diner, painted in pastel hues and vintage decor, where the digital creator treated herself to a ‘version of chicken pot pie’ which was actually a cereal. Next, she found herself in a wizard’s lair housing wooden bookshelves, rusty books and an overall eerie atmosphere. This space allows diners to even make their own uni, aka a Japanese delicacy made with sea urchins.

Themed rooms and internet reactions

That is not all. Some of the other rooms transport you to the jungle and even deserts, where you get to enjoy a variety of lip-smacking items. A private jet-themed room is where restaurant-goers can savour tasty desserts, with a special mention of an edible 24-karat gold jelly telephone. Can you believe it? The digital creator revealed that she got lost while navigating through the restaurant, but it was nevertheless an unforgettable experience, which one must try for 200 dollars per person.
