Gold prices continued slipping on Friday, October 23, 2026, with major jewellers such as Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Joyalukkas and Kalyan Jewellers lowering their 22-carat gold rates compared with previous day prices. Tanishq’s 22k gold price, meanwhile, was unchanged till the time of writing this article. The India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) is also yet to reveal its gold and silver jewellery’s indicative prices today.

Gold prices can vary across jewellers and cities due to factors like demand and supply, local taxes, making charges, etc. So, buyers should check the latest gold and silver rates before making a purchase.

Gold outlook

Mr. Prithviraj Kothari, Managing Director at RiddiSiddhi Bullions Ltd., President of IBJA says "Gold and silver are heading for their steepest weekly fall in over four months. Oil jumped about 4% to a five-month high after Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, strengthening expectations that the Fed will keep rates higher for longer. Markets await the October 27–28 Fed meeting and next week’s PCE data. Gold has broken $4,000 (₹1,42,000) and may slip to $3,950 (~ ₹1,40,000), while silver, below $54.5 (~ ₹2,00,000), could test $50 (~ ₹1,80,000–1,85,000). Both metals are building a strong base over the medium term, with a 10–15% rebound expected. Holding above $4,200 for gold and $62 for silver would revive the uptrend."
