BJP's Nitin Nabin to lead Rohtak march on day of INDIA bloc rally

BJP president Nitin Nabin will lead a 'Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao' march in Haryana's Rohtak on November 1, the same day the INDIA bloc is scheduled to hold a protest rally at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan over alleged irregularities in electoral rolls.

Announcing the march, the BJP said the programme would be held under the banner of 'Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao' (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy).

The parallel mobilisation comes as the Opposition bloc prepares to take its campaign against alleged voter-list manipulation and its demand for action against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to the streets.

The INDIA bloc's November 1 rally is part of its campaign against alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Rahul Gandhi has invited people to join a march from Connaught Place's Minto Road junction via Ajmeri Gate to Ramlila Maidan at noon.

The BJP's Rohtak march will be led by Nabin, with Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and other state leaders expected to participate, PTI reported.

The two programmes put the BJP and the Opposition bloc on parallel mobilisation drives in the national capital region on the same day, with electoral rolls and the SIR exercise at the centre of the political confrontation.
