Are banks open or closed in your state today?
Are banks open or closed this Saturday is a common question asked by many bank customers who need a branch visit to complete their bank-related tasks. Such a confusion arises because banks are not open on all Saturdays. The same confusion may prevail today (Saturday, June 13, 2026) about the holiday status of banks.

As per the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) holiday schedule, public and private sector banks, including small finance banks, and cooperative and regional rural banks remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month. Banks are also closed on Sundays and on national and state-specific holidays.

However, branches remain open and provide regular banking services on the first, third and fifth Saturdays of the month.

The RBI issues an official calendar each year detailing state-wise bank holidays. Customers must be aware of these dates to schedule their banking activities appropriately.
