UP SIR draft voter list has been released today, January 6, 2026. As per The Election Commission of India (ECI) information 2.89 crore names have been deleted from the draft poll list. The list has been officially published on the site. This follows the massive Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process—the most significant voter list cleanup in the state's recent history.

Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa said out of 15.44 crore voters, names of 12.55 crore (81.30 per cent) have been retained in draft electoral roll after SIR. He confirmed that although originally scheduled for December 31, the list was rescheduled for today to accommodate the creation of over 15,000 new polling booths and the digitization of every single enumeration form.

How Many Names Deleted & Retained in UP SIR draft electoral roll

Under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Uttar Pradesh’s electoral rolls, around 2.89 crore voters’ names have been deleted from the draft list, while 12.55 crore voters have been retained, according to Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa. Out of a total 15.44 crore voters, about 81.30 percent remain on the draft roll published after the exercise.

Rinwa said the Election Commission received data related to nearly 12.5 crore ballot papers, with deletions attributed to multiple factors including 46.23 lakh deceased voters, 2.17 crore voters who have moved, are missing or absent, and 25.47 lakh voters whose names appeared more than once. The final electoral roll will be issued on March 6, 2026, and voters have been asked to verify their details online and submit Form 6 if their names are missing.
