The film industry often looks glamorous from the outside, but for many young actors, the journey can be emotionally challenging. Telugu actress Sreeleela recently spoke about one such difficult phase in her life, revealing how online trolling once made her question her decision to stay in films. The actress shared her experience during an appearance on Chaaaat Show The Reel Flavour hosted by Suma Kanakala. She was joined on the show by her co-star Raashii Khanna, and the conversation touched upon the impact of social media criticism on actors.

Why Sreeleela wanted to quit films?

Recalling her early days in the industry, Sreeleela admitted that she was deeply affected by negative comments online. She explained that she was extremely sensitive at the time and would often feel hurt after reading harsh remarks about her work and appearance.

The actress revealed, "I did when I first started in this industry. I used to feel so bad about it, I would cry. I even told my mother, I don’t think I’ll be able to do this. Should I go back to school or college? I was so sensitive, but now I’m immune to it." However, with time and experience, Sreeleela said she learned how to deal with online negativity and gradually became less affected by it.

During the same conversation, Raashii Khanna supported her co-star’s views and pointed out that many people post negative comments on social media simply to gain attention or create clickbait. According to Sreeleela, audiences today are more aware and capable of judging content for themselves, which has made her less worried about trolling.

    Sreeleela's journey till date

On the professional front, Sreeleela was recently seen in Ustaad Bhagat Singh alongside Pawan Kalyan and Raashii Khanna. The film released in theatres on March 19 and faced box office competition from Dhurandhar: The Revenge starring Ranveer Singh.

Born on June 14, 2001, Sreeleela began her career as a child artist before making her debut as a lead actor with the Kannada film Kiss. She went on to gain popularity with films such as Dhamaka and Bhagavanth Kesari, which helped establish her as one of the most promising young actors in Telugu cinema.

Apart from her work in films, Sreeleela has also focused on her academics. She recently completed her medical degree, officially becoming a qualified doctor. She graduated with an MBBS degree from DY Patil University in Mumbai after six years of dedication. Balancing a demanding film career with medical studies was not easy, but the actress has often spoken about the importance of education and discipline in her life.

According to Koimoi 2024 reports, Sreeleela currently has an estimated net worth of around Rs 15 crore. She is also expected to expand her career beyond the South Indian film industry. Apart from this, she will soon make her Bollywood debut in a project directed by Anurag Basu, reportedly co-starring Kartik Aaryan.
